Run Like Hell
03:14
|
|||
Last night I had the dream again,
Where I had so many words to say that I lost them,
Ava, you are such a pretty young thing,
With your hair turned gray from the stress you're in.
Is it Cain
or was it me who killed the Queen?
Robespierre,
Untie this rope, the guillotine.
Eve, pack your bags, we'll leave tonight.
You know I loved to walk in your garden,
And when the spiders came in, I killed them,
Ave, you are such a pretty young thing,
Will you even care for me when I'm old and thin?
Go now, while there's still hope for escape,
While there's still a chance to get away,
If you go away I won't hold it against you,
Just know there'll be nothing left for us two.

The Twin Theory
02:58
|
|||
If my twin were shot through space,
He'd come back younger than me,
In his rocket,
He would lose all sight of me,
And I'd be free,
Getting to see my younger beauty.
Where are you saying?
All I see are wavelengths,
All I hear are echoes of the sound,
And they run me through like a violent stabbing,
Or your doctor sighing when you were born,
And they make me yearn for you.
If my memory was wiped clean,
Then why do I still feel you,
Weighing in my bloodstream,
In my aching sores,
In my harshest words.

Water on Mars
03:48
|
|||
They just found water on Mars,
So I guess that's really something else,
The only water that matters,
Is the rain on the roof of the house during a storm,
When the kids would scream and slam their doors.
I've fought across so many rivers,
I don't think I can handle anyone else,
And I don't miss the noise,
I just miss your voice,
The way it crumbles when I poke fun of your lisp.
Can you hear me?
When I fall and you aren't there,
Can you hear me?
When Jonah sailed the ocean,
When Jonah sank into the bottom of the sea,
Did the acid eat his body?
Christ took one look and passed over the city.
And i know the planets are crashing,
But I'd bet that you're somewhere dancing,
And I'm not there.

Jeremy
02:31
|
|||
My brother, you are black and bleeding,
And all your nails are painted blue,
The light from your window starts receding,
My shadows run parallel to you.
I see your pathway through the forest,
My brother, you're my only friend,
I see this road that lays before us,
It has no center, has no end.
Why can't I see you?
I get this feeling I still terrify you, love.
All the boys,
They thought about naming you Jeremy.

Soul Splits
03:34
|
|||
Can you look at me,
for once like we aren't enemies?
We're just two lost souls looking for an exit.
At the end of every life,
Every soul splits like a rhyme,
To fly over every corner in every language.
I've been young and I've been old,
I've been the Hurter and Consoled,
But I've never chosen it.
Can you look at me,
Like we were just 17?
Like we were just getting over getting older.
At the end of every knife,
There's an edge that splits the ice,
To uncover underneath,
All the ocean.
In a dream we're in a room,
Across the sea under the moon,
Across the sea we're in a dream,
And we're fading out.
I've heard the garden of Eden,
Is between the Tigris and Euphrates,
And the flowers are still there,
And they're blooming.

Autumn Sun
05:20
|
|||
We were lost in the autumn sun,
Nothing's wrong,
My hair was long and my heart was bleeding.
I was struck by your halo's haze,
In the month of May,
Long before you knew I was a demon.
You raised me in your auburn curls,
The world it whirls outside,
But my love stays frozen.

End of Every Summer
02:57
|
|||
I've seen the lights, they're fading low in sight,
From your rooftop staring at the night,
When we were young, they used to shine so bright.
I've seen the stars they're getting further away,
At night put kids to bed where they fade away,
"You say how can you be sure,
When we don't tell the truth anymore?"
I've seen your plans they're getting further from me,
I want so much for you to be happy,
I think sometimes,
I don't know what I want out of life.
When stars cross over into the blackened night we'll say
"We might be older, but we laugh it off like nothing has changed."
And at the end of every summer,
You say the days are getting shorter,
Like it's some sort of revelation.
